An amateur performance by Southampton Operatic Society
A new adaptation of Jacques Offenbach's operetta
Dates
21 – 25 February
This entirely original adaptation of Offenbach's outrageous operetta Orpheus in the Underworld takes us to the heights of Mount Olympus and the depths of Hades as Orpheus reluctantly seeks to save his wife, Eurydice, from the clutches of Pluto - the God of the Underworld.
Hedonistic deities toy with vulnerable mortals in this bawdy romp - all brought to life through Offenbach's memorable music (including the Can-Can!). Prepare for an evening of gods, goddesses, jealousy, japery, love, lust, singing and sheep.
