Based on personal experience. DEMENTIA DIARIES is a story of confusion and conflict, memories and memory loss, told through the interweaving monologues of a dysfunctional Anglo-Polish family and their Polish carer, where both parents are suffering from different forms of dementia.
Performed by Polish and British actors, this accessible but uncompromising drama for five voices and live music combines tenderness, despair, and moments of surreal humour.
The production has been developed in partnership with research clinicians and doctors at the Memory Assessment and Research Centre (MARC) at Moorgreen Hospital in Southampton and The Nuffield Theatre, located on campus at the University of Southampton, home to one of the country’s leading departments of clinical neuroscience.
