The setting is Nevada, in the late 1980s. A Mexican man faces imminent execution on death row. Seven years earlier, on a largely Mexican trailer park south of Las Vegas, the claustrophobic relationships that will lead to tragedy are forming. Living alone with his daughter, Paulina, Juan cleans casinos by night and washes cars by day. The fragile relationship between Paulina and an older man and his own relationship with a younger woman are threaded with an undercurrent of violence, ultimately building towards an unexpected conclusion.
