The votes are in, but do the people of Britain really feel counted?
In spite of pre-election hype in Britain, this year’s voter turn out remained low. As we review our democratic policy, COUNTED? tells the timely story of how democracy isn’t just about what we do at the ballot box.
This verbatim documentary play takes us to the heart of what democracy really means by sharing the voices and experiences of real people from all walks of life. Revealing, humorous and entertaining, it dramatises interviews and academic research, to look at the concept of choice and the factors that influence us. What gets a rise from us and what makes us feel like we don’t matter? An engrossing and arresting production, whoever you voted for, whether you voted or not, it asks the ultimate question, ‘What does it mean to be Counted?’
